UFO and Cupcake: I sent some personal comments regarding the #ACA. Here are a couple responses. I think one of the most disturbing thing about the rhetoric around repealing the ACA is about Americans having a choice. The choice argument is truly about identity and wealth. For those who are not wealthy it is a signifier of freedom. For those that have wealth it is a way to keep their self identification and power. It is hard to argue against freedom of choice as an American. But ultimately freedom of choice is often a falsehood, an empty shell with nothing inside. In statements defending the repeal of the ACA on the grounds of freedom there is little doubt that it is used as an empty shell. Health care is not a freedom of choice for those who want to live and being made to choose is also not a freedom of choice. #devo @senthomtillis @reppatrickmchenry
